My research interests are wide and varied, but primarily my research falls into four related areas. (1) International Organizations and International law–I am particularly interested in understanding the political dynamics of state compliance and non-compliance with multilateral treaty regimes. (2) I examine how domestic institutions, legal arrangements, and social norms affect compliance behavior by focusing on three regime areas–Human Rights, Environment, and International Political Economy. (3) Regionally, my research foci is on India and China, and I also have a strong interest in Middle East Politics. (4) Of course, indubitably, I follow the Foreign Policy actions of the United States, which is a certainty for students of international relations.
